Re: Waddington 2008

Thanks for the piccies Hornchurch,
it seems that we are having yet another washout of a summer.
Fingers crossed for good weather at Duxford next weekend.
That show costs a small fortune to attend ......

Even though Waddington isn't a patch on what it USED to be, it's still one of the best in the UK - with only R.I.A.T being bigger.

STILL Well worth the £ 20 admission price.

I got to Waddington around 8.30.am & parked right-up on the Flight-line

By Mid-day, both the whole place & the area around my car was SWAMPED with people, cars & rain.

However, one of the joys of obtaining a GREAT parking place was to follow........

After the Lanc'/Vulcan display, "Phantom of the Ruhr" came over to pay 'H.C' a visit !!!!!!!!!!!!

She only came & parked right in my lap !!!!!!!!!!! (metaphorically, you understand)

For the rest of the day, I was fighting folks off to get near my car, as EVERYONE swarmed around PA.474.......
Even the Women, many of whom were admiring her & asking questions about her !

Here she is, taxying in - right in front of me, then, parking up for the night.
(excuse the 'Tesco' H.G.V. in the background, driving down the A.15 (Roman-Rd !)

Re: Waddington 2008

Neat pictures! Have to say the Lancaster and the Vulcan in flight together looked real impressive.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: Waddington 2008

Thanks for posting. Great pics. I especially loved the Vulcan. I recently watched a documentary on the restoration of said Vulcan so it was great to see pics of her doing what she does best. The Lanc formation was great.
