Geneseo, NY P-40 Reunion

Just read about this on the English forum. July 11 to the 13 The Greatest show on Turf. They are having a P-40 reunion, inviting all flyable P-40's no exact numbers yet but they have 11 listed on there web site. I'm off that week and it is only a couple hours drive (depending on the boarder) so I'm going to try to attend.

Jim, are you SURE it's not time for another visit Stateside? While in New York, you could visit the Rhinebeck Aerodrome. They put on a nice airshow weekends during the summer, early aircraft up to and including WW I.

Captain, I would love to take a trip over to the US of A.

I have so many good memories of last years holiday in the States.

One day I hope to return and enjoy that great American hospitality again.

Jim I was thinking of you when I posted this. I am going to do my best to get there. Been dropping hints with the misses, not very subtle ones either. Even programed the address into the GPS.

Jim, just tell the wife that you need to donate a kidney to somebody in Geneseo, NY, at that time and you will just happen to drop by the P-40 reunion.

Re: Geneseo, NY P-40 Reunion

Most P-40s I have ever seen at one time was 5 and the Madera air show back in late 80s. Wish that P-40 Reunion was a bit closer, be neat to see all those P-40s.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Cav, I reckon it would be worth a kidney to be able to see all those gorgeous beautiful awesome aggresive cool but hot ladies.

Kabelace you have just got to post loads of photos when you get back.

I have arranged to go to the Duxford Legends on those dates but believe me if I had the cash I would cancel and be over there in a flash.

Oh well guess I will have to keep on buying a lottery ticket every week.

God Bless America.

Re: Geneseo, NY P-40 Reunion

Managed to get to Geneseo Today, wasn't going to go as the weather didn't look promising. Well Jim sorry to disappoint you but they only had 4 P-40's there when I arrived in the afternoon. I think a lot cancelled because of the weather. The Historical Aircraft Group's air field were the show is at is in a valley and there was over cast but it was also very hot and humid making the air very thick and hazy, not the best weather for an air show. The cloud deck was low enough that when a F-16 was doing its thing you would loose it in the clouds for a bit. Only seen 1 P-40 fly and that was with the F-16 in a heritage flight. They should have billed it as a Harvard/Texan show as there was well over a dozen of these fine aircraft around the field.
Will post some picks tonight or tomorrow.
