Re: Duxford 2007

I like the Lysander and the Hawker Hart. I could spend a day just looking at those two.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Saturday, Sunday, 12 & 13 July 2008 - Flying Legends Duxford
Duxford is Europe's premier aviation museum - as well as having one of the finest collections of tanks, military vehicles and naval exhibits in the country.
This famous heritage site began as an airfield in the First World War and also played a vital role in the Second World War, firstly as an RAF fighter station and later as an American fighter base.

Impressive museum to say the least. I wish I could spend a week or two there.

I agree, the trip was definitely worth the money, and England is not a cheap place to spend an airshow weekend

I like that Bearcat you have on there too.
Wish they make that one in a diecast.

Starman, you ever saw a Bearcat in flight? It was the first time for me and I was stunned! The sound and the speed of this one was great!
Next to the A1 Skyraider, the Bearcat in 1:48 would be my first choice

Never heard a Bearcat as of yet...But i have heard a Hellcat & Tigercat and those babies sound sweet and loud...
What a second...I heard a Bearcat in Reno one time during the Reno Air races...Yea thats right it was a red with yellow flames Bearcat if i remember right
But i was not near it (close to the runway) .....to hear the great music that cat makes.

Back in the way back machine,,, First time a Reno air races (1986) not only was the Rarebear there, but also a Bearcat in normal Navy colors. Back then Lefty Gardner did some pretty impressive displays in his P-38 #13 White Lightning. I remember him doing a knive edge down a major portion of the flight line.
