Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2008

I'll be there. First time I'll be leaving my own state to go to an airshow, and it IS in Michigan, but what can I tell you.......sounds like a great time, and should only take around three hours or so to get there. Can't pass up the chance to see a 109 flying, etc. Never seen a Sopwith 1-1/2 Strutter before either.

Anybody know if the Fokker Tripes and the Sopwith have real rotary engines?

It's well worth the trip Captain. I will be attending this year as well. Missed last year's show due to them moving the dates up, can't wait to go this year though. I'll have to take the camera this time.

Sounds like a number of us MH II members will be there brunowbe. Closer to the event well have to arrange some meeting place and time. I'll be there Saturday.

That would be pretty nice. Saturday is the day I will most likely be attending as well.

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2008

Would really like to go to this show. Never seen a B-24 or P-47 in flight. Should only be about a 4 1/2 hour drive depending on the border crossing. Going to have to have a talk with the little lady about a road trip in August, that is if the gas prices don't get any stupider

Since I saw the line up of planes I would like to make the trip.Fly in via Chicago than take the car and spend an airshow-weekend.

It may be better if you can get a flight into Detroit.

Never even heard of it. Canton's not too far away from me either, I'll have to check this out.
