Pics: Capitol Air Show 2008

I was there Saturday and we really lucked out with the weather -- beautiful day! Couple times I thought we were going to get rained on but everything went "around us". Unfortunately the overcast was darkest during the Viper demo, but I had issues all day to say the least trying to get proper lighting. In a single pan sequence you had bright blue skies, sun/clouds/bright blue skies, then dark clouds... wow. Lots of fun though! And the clouds did make from some truly dramatic vistas.

We got a good spot on the flightline about 100 left of show center, right behind the ramp.

Scads more photos for anyone interested -- hit the slideshow: HERE. Enjoy.

Are the Blue Angels flying the E model now or C model?

A couple on static display -- but the only one that flew was the P-51 for the Heritage Flight. The B-25 Heavenly Body was on display, along with a T-6 but this is mostly a Jet show...

Now that is what you need for an airshow. Have to have the old prop jobs. Great looking photos, thanks for posting!

Thankfully, there's another show this summer in my area -- Wings Over the Wine Country -- that is mostly about the props --- so the shows balance each other out nicely!
