German Tornados in Cape Town

The Germans were in South Africa to play some war games. On Saturday afternoon four Tornados treated Cape Town to a fly by followed by the the South African Cheetahs. The Tornados then did another flyby.
This might be the norm for most of you who have wonderful air shows but here in South Africa, this was a real treat. It's the first time I see Tornados. It's actually the first time I see any modern fighter fly other than our SA air force.

Smile Re: German Tornados in Cape Town

Nice pics there ZS-Mike, good to see you posting. Cool insights derhamburgerjung, more info then we have access to here. Starman, when he says flybys he meant it! I was at the office attending a workshop and knew there would be a flyby so I took to the roof. Pretty cool. We're only treated to airshows twice a year in Cape Town if we're lucky. Last year they started AAD and I posted pics from there, there's an airshow at AFB Ysterplaat and every second year we have TFDC/AFB Overberg 2 hours or so from Cape Town, also posted some pics previously.

Re: German Tornados in Cape Town

The Tornado is a big noisy beast, it must have been awesome to have a 4 ship flyby.

Nice photos, blue sky ! I had forgotten what blue skies looked like.

God Bless America.
