Re: Biggest Airshow this year

Quebec City:
Snowbirds
Blue Angels
Thunderbirds
Red Arrows
Patrouille de France
That's right 5 demonstration teams.
400th anniversary.
June 14 -15.

Awesome lineup! We've got a couple of good shows in S. California too but my favorite is the Planes of Fame in Chino. The only thing I don't like is fighting the crowds in and out of the area! Used to be great a few years ago because no one knew about it but now it's always a zoo. Anyway, the lineup for Planes of Fame is great if you like Classic Warbirds especially when they get them up for the historic flight. Check out Planes of Fame dot org.

Sorry if I've highjacked your thread Smart! Mods, please move this if you feel I've done so, thank you!

It's all good. No problem here.
We used to lay claim to having the 2nd best Warbird show here in Hamilton, (CAF in Texas was 1st) through the 80s. New insurance regs, new promoter, etc. managed to put an end to that. The CHW still have a fairly decent little show each summer but not like it was back then.

Re: Biggest Airshow this year

If any of you have ever been to the largest airshow in the world each year, the EAA Oshkosh Fly-in, then you have been to the 'promised land'!! I was there in 2003, when it was the 100th year anniversary of flight, the 50th year anniversary of this airshow, and my 40th birthday!! Talk about the planets aligning......

Oh, by the way, there was 'only' 12,000 aircraft there!!

Re: Biggest Airshow this year

I will definitely be there!!! I heard it is quite rare to have both the Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels performing at the same show...

Re: Biggest Airshow this year

It is quite a list but big shows like this are wearing off for me some.

300,000 people looking around asking,"Now, which one is the F-16 Eagle that the Blue Angels fly?".

Sorry, I know it will be fun, but the big shows of last summer soured me a bit.

Not the big show at Rickenbacker, I trust!?

FYI, Patrouille de France cancelled for political reasons. It still leaves us with 4 good teams. Hopefully, there won't be any more cancellations.
