Just got back home from the airshow. What a wonderfull time me and the family had! Got to see my favorite a/c the U-2 Dragon Lady do the fly-by as well as the usual suspects: F/A-18, F-15E Strike Eagle (and a P-51 Mustang which flew side-by-side with the Eagle - an amazing sight to behold!), a couple of black T-38s, and the biggest surprise visit by a B-2 Stealth bomber....wooohooo!!! To bad the F-22 Raptor was towed back in the hangar due to some problem. The Airforce Thunderbirds flew for about 15 minutes but had to return back and cancel their demonstration! I don't have any of the details yet so I'll update accordlingly. That was a bummer.

Hey Fly! Sorry to have missed you as PappyB and I were there too. Did you miss the the Raptor? I did an amazing display early in the show. As for the T-birds, their show was interrupted for about 30 minutes as one plane made an emergency landing due to a bird-strike.A good show overall (but it would be better if more Warbirds were included). ![]()

| Re: California Capital Airshow The Raptor was indeed there -- and it was sure tough to keep in the viewfinder. Learning a new lens, most of the Raptor pics came out soft but here she is... I took scads of photos, most of 'em went straight into the recycle bin -- air shows are tough to shoot (particularly for me) and yesterday's conditions were challenging -- hazy, hot, spots of overcast mixed with bright blue skies... did I mention hot (had to toss all my shots of the birds taxiing as the heat shimmer (that I couldn't seen in the view finder) distored 'em all... I'll put all the shots online somewhere when I can for anyone interested, but here's some of the better pics I had of the Raptor . ![]() gadzooks, sorry about that first file size ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||||||||||||||

I believe it was T-bird 6 Star. Also, it was the only female pilot flying that day too (correct me if wrong Pappy). After landing she took a standby plane up to finish the show.

Thx Starman, was wondering if you were there (sorry we missed ya Fly!) It was T-Bird 6 that got the strike -- was just starting a slow roll at show center and ended up just flying straight through and then going up to have a fellow t-bird check out her ride... Apparently there was no damage from the strike at all, just a "visibility" issue -- apparently hit the windscreen somewhere... rumor has it, anyways.
