Re: California Capital Airshow

Dang, Pappy, these are some of the best pictures of the F-22 I've seen yet, and believe me, I've seen a few!

Outstanding job. Too bad the F-22 will apparently not be at the Paris Air Show (starts next weekend).

Re: California Capital Airshow

I thought T-Bird 3 is also a female pilot..
JP

When naming the pilots for that flight the announcer didn't designate if a pilot was female or not so I don't know if there was another flying. We only know what we heard in regard to the TB-6 pilot as the announcer stated various facts about her as she returned for a landing. I don't recall hearing any other female names, etc. when the pilot roster was announced at flight time. Pappy?

Thanks Viper -- I guess I'm always my own harshest critic, but if you'd like to see even better ones (and understand why) go to http://www.fencecheck.com/forums/ind...,7513.210.html

Apparently an extra 100mm and a bigger CCD go a long way (I know that statement is tempting Skunky, but please... have mercy.)

But they are certainly the best F-22 pics I have ever taken (and also the first)

You asked me to, Black6, so... You're wrong -- T-bird 3 was also a female (Two female pilots were in the demo, I'm not 100% sure #3 was the second, but there were two up there, which is pretty cool.)

Re: California Capital Airshow

Some more of the most interesting.... except for the T-birds which will take me a long time to go through... and looks like I've got to find a way to delete pics from older posts, as I've hit my image limit...

The F-15 did a mock strafe and bomb run with some pretty awesome pyrotechnics -- we could feel the heat blast pretty hard at the flight line, it was very impressive...

The usual heritage flight mustang was there -- though it was supposed to fly with the raptor, too, but that got grounded for a tech issue and didn't fly after the morning's abreviated demo (some dolt flew into the no-fly zone at the field and the raptor had to go on station until the space cleared. I say it should have tested its missiles :-))

Exactly why I asked you my friend. Good thing I didn't make a declarative statement in regard to the question.

The heat that came from the "limited" amount of fuel they used for the display was as Pappy says "very impressive." I didn't think we were that close yet you certainly felt the blast of heat when they touched the fuel off. Scary to think about how much heat would come from a real napalm attack.

I'm real jealous of your pics there Pappy.
