| Gathering of Mustangs and Legends - No4's pics... Hey guys, here's my quick photo essay of GML2007. I've barely scatched the surface of the 1300+ pics I've taken, so here's the few I've managed some time to process so far... My favorite shot from the weekend.. JIm Beasley in Princess Elizabeth and Ed Shipley in Excalibur...  Another gorgeous P-51C - Kermit Weeks in "Ina the Macon Belle"...  Lee Lauderback tearing it up in Crazy Horse 2...  and for a little variety (and for Jim!)....  And the Mustang I never got tired of seeing...   The formation that was to be 51 mustangs, reduced to 20 because the Thursday practise was rained out. Still, where else are you going to see 20 P-51's in the air together!?!  Sunday's heritage flight - somewhat light challenged...   and Princess Elizabeth again....   Not to leave out the Legends portion of the show, which for many including myself was the icing on the cake to meet some of the many veterans in attendance. The veteran tents were crowded the whole weekend so I was very lucky to happen upon a few of them as the mingled with their former mounts out in the static park. Triple ace and one of the humblest gentlemen you could ever meet - Bud Anderson...  Captivating the crowd with his wartime stories and still moved by memories of his lost comrades, Dick Hewitt....  In the cockpit of blue noser "Slender, Tender and Tall", Al Barrows...  That's all I have for now. More to come in a day or so once I can get to them.... | ||||||||||||||
