Great State of Maine Airshow

Sunday I attended the airshow at NAS Brunswick, ME....I'm happy to say it was a near perfect day for it, and everyone had a safe performance. The previous day was a washout..This may have been Brunswick's final airshow as the base is slated to close in 2011, leaving no more active duty DoD airfields in New England...

I posted some of my pix of it here if anyone is interested.

Re: Great State of Maine Airshow

My only chance to attend was on Saturday.Although wet and cold most of the events went on as scheduled. I wish I had some pictures but I couldn't keep the camera lense dry long enough.

Re: Great State of Maine Airshow

What skunky did not tell ya all was that he hit some poor guy over the head after he took all those nice pics and ran like hell to his car with the camar in hand. Before the guy had a chance to know what hit him the pics where online, I hear that that guy is looking for someone with a white line runing down his back and he said he smelled funny.

Re: Great State of Maine Airshow

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the pics. Yes, jim, those Blue Angel guys are a bit special. I've probably seen them perform about 40 times dating back to when they flew F-11 Tigers and they never fail to impress. I have the utmost respect and admiration for the Thunderbirds as well, but even many Air Force types have given the nod to the Blues as putting on the better show. They seem to fly just a bit tighter. The Snowbirds put on a great show as well, but let's face it, no matter how great they can fly, the aircraft they're saddled with just aren't that inspiring...They should switch to the CF-118!...Anyway, I hope anyone who has not had the opportunity to witness a Blue Angels performance gets the chance to at least once in their lifetime..There's a reason they're the closing act of every show..Everything else pales in comparison...

Here's a piccy that didn't make the album.

I wonder if the Reverends Sharpton and Jackson would be pleased?

Ah, not unless the "HO" part completes the word.
