This is what i heard today:
Brad Morehouse of Afton, Wyo., was "killed instantly" when his jet crashed about 2:45 p.m., touching off a small brush fire along the runway at Stead Airport just north of Reno.
It marked the 17th fatality in the 44-year history of the races.
He was flying an L-39 Albatross he named "Dino Juice," a jet often used for military flight training.
He was flying in the second heat of the jet class competition. He had finished fourth in Wednesday's qualifying round, reaching a maximum speed of 504 mph, race officials said.
The crash forced the suspension of Thursday's afternoon competition.
The cause of the crash was under investigation but race officials said the initial indication was Morehouse may have gotten caught in the wake of a jet he was tailing.
My thoughts are with his family.

OMG i can't believe the week their having at the 2007 Reno Air races this year...Two planes collided today..
This is getting to be a bad year for air show pilots.

Definitely not good! It's like a bad omen have decended upon this year's event. My thoughts and prayers for those who perished.

The third fatal accident in four days happened early in the day. The races for the rest of the day were suspended. I was present at Stead again today, but the third accident occurred before I arrived at mid-morning.

Did the L-39 crash right in front of the grand stands, thats what I looks like from the pictures I've seen? I go every year, I missed this year since I am going to Nellis and the Mustang event at the end of the month.

Yes. There is a runway parallel to the grandstands. It crashed in the desert scrub just beyond that runway.
