Hahnweide Airshow '05 (lotta pics)

Well, it's a year ago already, but here are some pics I took at the Hahnweide airshow last september. Unfortunately, this one takes place every two years only. It's surely not as spectacular as what's going on in the UK and US, but I'm glad there's some real "airshow" that goes beyond the usual BBQ in the hangar which is quite popular here

The day before: a formation of 5 Ju 52 circling over Stuttgart

Habicht

Yak-3

The B-25 has arrived

B-25 nose art

This shot reminds me of Catch 22 somehow

There was a great performance by the Piper's pilot

T-6 nose art

The most beautiful aircraft there, IMHO, Dragon Rapide

What a Spit!

8 pics limit?? So sorry for spamming!

Corsair parking

One of the 109s that was announced. Unfortunately the other one crahsed just a few weeks earlier and requires extensive repair.

Massive propeller blades!

The Connie had just a fly-by performace as the short runway didn't allow a landing.

A 1:2 scale 190D. Not really in scale, but you can actually fly it.

4x Boeing Stearman. There were also formations of Tiger Moths, T-6, the Flying Bulls and Do-27.

Two years earlier there was a Spit IX as well...the day my camera broke down

The Spit...

...went off like a rocket. Really impressive!

Spitfire and Corsair in formation. No 109 tried intercept them

Great pictures Rubberduck. It's nice to see the variance in planes from place to place and show to show. Most airshows in my area tend to be more jet-centric with very few warbirds and more civilian aerobatic entries. I can't remember if I've ever seen a Spitfire or Corsair that wasn't in a museum.
