Thumbs up Red Bull Was Awsome!

Hi Gang, Well the big event is over and now I can give my neck time to recover. My son,s and I had a great day watching those pilots doing what they do best!

The fun bit was watching their stunts after each run. When you are happy you just got to show it and trust me they did.

Well now my collection has a special model to remember the day, Red Bull do a collectors diecast plane based on the EDGE 530 racers. The box it comes in has a real style about also, I got 4 of the pilots to sign it. Next year I might be lucky and get all 11.

Well now we wait for 2007 and see it again. If you get a chance to see a race then go and you will not be sorry.

Re: Red Bull Was Awsome!

That is awsome. I heard that they have a great collection of warbirds including a P-51, B-25, DC-3, and a C-54.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

The winner of the Perth stage was Peter Besenyei and Paul Bonhomme took second. Thrid place was Kirby Chambliss which also gave him the championship for 2006.

Alas as for photos I can not as my digital camera battery went flat but I am sure if you check out www.redbullairrace.com you will find some shots.

Oh Frank Versteegh gave a great interview after his second run which was not the best. He said' He had a terrible run but the crowed still loved it , so what right has he got to complain!" Well sports fans we now have to wait for 2007. " BRING IT ON!" The interview with another pilot was a real plug for Perth, Western Australia " I love it here. One minute walk from the hotel to the airfield and one minute to the course!" Guys to crowd was estimated at 300,000 which is not bad for or first time. If you got to see it live then my home city is the place.!

Re: Red Bull Was Awsome!

Paul Bonhomme, If my memory is working I think he is a Spitfire display pilot. I am sure I have seen him at Duxford.Nigel Lamb also. I wouldnt mind a back seat ride around the course. PHEW. One off the stages was at Longleat in the UK. That is a must see for me next year. Crikey 300.000 people!!! The entire population of OZ must have turned out.!!!

Re: Red Bull Was Awsome!

certainly was a great day spoilt only by the traffic jam getting there.We where in south Perth watching from one of the appartment blocks.Had the barbie crankin and a few light refreshments.Does'nt get much better than that...
300.000 = 25% of Perth metro population.Not to shabby

Hey it,s good to know another Perth boy is apart of the hangar crowed. Do you think we should let the other members know that entry was free and what about the little show the RAAF did with the Hawk.
I was planning to catch a ferry from the city to South Perth but the line at 8;45 put us off that idea. Still from the city side the view was great and after the train trip home my sons and I got to see the replay on 10.
