Accurate Miniatures EZBuild

The Spitfire Mk.Vb in this photo is not 1:72, but 1:100. It is an Accurate Miniatures EZBuild model. I bought it thinking that it was a snap kit, but it is a glue model. It assembles in six steps. The finish is pre-painted.

The other two models in this series, so far, are a P-51 and an Me.109.

Re: Accurate Miniatures EZBuild

Hi Tone,
I bought all 6 planes and even though they are 1/100 scale, they are real nice and make a nice build..
I have a pic of 5 of them in my "collection" thread..

Yeah, these are actually reboxed Doyusha planes for the US.. They also come with a plastic base, I just wished they would make different planes..

Re: Accurate Miniatures EZBuild

Finally saw these at my local Hobbytown USA shop selling for $7.95 each. Not bad looking for 1:100th scale and these are quite nice sitting next to the Corgi diecasts you can
get at Walmart or Target stores.

I've seen Airfix rebox them as their own here in Australia.

I've got a lot of these, including Doyusha zeroes with pilot AND ground crew with a couple of fuel drums as well. They sure are pretty neat.
There is also FW-190A's and P-47's availabled.

Re: Accurate Miniatures EZBuild

The crazy yet exciting thing about the Doyusha ones is that they are Random. Not only in colours but also types for a couple of their Jap plane series.
You wouldn't know if you'd be getting a Zero, Ki-61 or Ki-84. Though the mustangs etc were only random in colour, just couldn't help but get a few boxes hoping to get different colours or aiming for one particular one.

They did something similar with Battleships Yamato, Musashi and another one. Random pieces in the box, but all fit together no matter what colour. If you were lucky enough to get all the necessary pieces, you have one completed Battleship

Funny you mention these items because I found them at Hobbytown USA as well. The ones I saw were from the Takara (or Bandai) series, and those were the 1:144 scale sized WWII warbirds. They
had the usual suspects of Luftwaffe fighters both normal and the exotic variety...and that each were packaged in the same box design and artwork which had no 'hints' as to what's inside, so yes there's
no way to find out what you are getting until you've already paid for it. I didn't fall for that game!
