Aeroart is no longer making airplanes anyways, so you aren't missing out on much...

Buy the Dragon Mustang. It is the best by a long shot. I have 10 of them. I give it a 9 1/2 out of ten

Thumbs up Re: Need info on 1/72 - comparisons please

I think Dragon's P-51s are easily the best of the bunch, but Corgi's got more schemes... (unfortunatley the P-51D is one of their worst molds IMHO.). I don't have 'stangs from the other two, figured I have enough of 'em already from Dragon

I did a corgi/dragon comparison on my site a while back, check it out if you like:

I my self love the Dragons except for the constanly falling off flaps on the wings. On one model they just wont stay on at all, as long as you do not handle them your good too go.

But your question is a tough one, since there are so many variables, price, fixed gear or not, pilot or not.

I have just recently gotten some Witty Wings and like them, they seem just a tad underdetailed, but the gaps where they are assembled are much better than Corgi and the Fixed gear is good and looks accurate, plus the price is great and the variety is very good.

You are going to get a million opinions on this one, If anyone that knows the accuracy thing better, how are the witty on accuracy?

I just got Hoo Flung Dunk P-51D and love it, neat markings on that one.

Dragon Mustangs are the best ones out there in 1:72nd.
Corgi Makes different paint schemes of alot of fighters pilots
they just need to re-tool there Mustang's a little.
Now i have both Mixed in my collection and you can see the difference

A touch of white glue applied sparingly (I use a toothpick) will cure that.

Cool Re: Need info on 1/72 - comparisons please

Well best is certainly the Dragon. Optional position canopy, landing gear, and flaps... What more do ya want? For it to cook ya all breakfast!

Though aside from those points I have many Corgi 51's that are very nice. The lack of these optional positions make them far less real looking though.

I have the Dragon P-51 in Yeager's markings. I think that they did a great job with it.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.
