List of all 1/48 and 1/72 "Flying Tigers" P-40s (Chinese roundel)

Hi there everybody...you all may know the list by heart, but I have no idea which ones are there besides the Carousel 1 White 21 (Pappy's) and White 108 RT Smith (?) from FM and the smaller version from the Flyingmule. There is also the White 104 (albeit w/o roundels). IXO came up with a E version, oversized teeth and probably inaccurate "bosses' hoss" (NOT strictly a Flying Tiger if my history data is right). There was also something from XXI Century Toys in a biggish scale and made of plastic, not sure which one now though! Excluding the odd scales and the Easymodel plastic built-kits, what other diecasts are there? I mean 1/72, 1/48, 1/32....??

The IXO is actually an "N" version and is correctly marked as CAF serial P-11461/’White 660’ Lt. Col William N Reed, CO of the CACW’s 7th FS/3rd FG, Liangshan, China, August 1944. There is a color profile of this aircraft in Aircraft of the Aces 35 - P-40 Warhawk Aces of the CBI, Page 41, Color Plate 36.

thanks for the precision data and the correction
yes, you're absolutely right it is an N an not an E
but my question remains, are theer any more diecast flying tigers out there? The Spec cast version is in the forbidden area for me...

Check out triccies site for the Corgi models.
The Tex Hill version is a cracker.

Matchbox springs to mind also, they did a couple of FT birds including LG Chennaults plane.

Then of course Easy Model does a couple at least.

Yeah, if it ever comes out! I go to my local TARGET store once or twice a week just to peek at the FOV product isle just in case these were out but no dice!

Re: List of all 1/48 and 1/72 "Flying Tigers" P-40s (Chinese roundel)

thanks guys for the imput. I got the Carousel1, the FM/Armour one (both 1/48), the Corgi "sans" Chinese Roundel and the Corgi/Flying Mule "With", the IXO N version, and one of the plastic ones from Easy Models (all of these in 1/72 scale). Quite a Sharksmouth P-40 freak I am!!!
Now, also heard of the FOV diecast 1/72 version, but don't seem to be able to find it here in Hong Kong...where TARGET is not sth you see around the corner (but where the FOV HQ seems to be located!) I also think I found a 1/32 Ultimate Soldier plastic model in the Flying Mule's site, and rumors that a 1/18 version was due too...are these any good? can anyone share photos?
If someone can come up with sth we have overlooked and it probably is worth some attention, please do leave a note!

Good collection you've got there b-huj. The FoV Flying Tiger P-40 is not due to be released until November - so the latest info from all the retailers says. Based on their early "Pearl Harbor" P-40, it should be an acceptible model for the price. Easy Model makes 2 Flying Tiger versions (2nd & 3rd squadrons) - I know they are only plastic, but they aren't that bad. When displayed next to a diecast model, you really can't tell the difference. Jim is correct, Matchbox did make a "Claire Chennault" Flying Tiger P-40E. I had it at one time and it was well done. Very, very hard to find now!
