Best single engine WWII fighter in diecast?

Ok, across the board, what is the best single engine WWII fighter in diecast? Does not matter who makes it, or what scale. So which aircraft would some of you pick, mine would be pretty easy. My top honors would go to Hobby Masters Dutch Brewster B339C (No big surprise there with close second choice being their Singapore Buffalo.). Ok, so what would be your pick?

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Are you thinking of favorite, most important, best mold or some combination of these?

Re: Best single engine WWII fighter in diecast?

Bet I'm alone, here.......

But as 1/72 fighters look (rather) feeble to me (like they would fit inside my shirt-pocket.....!)......

I'd go for the Franklin-Mint F.6-F Hellcat. (in 1/48th)

I still love it......Mmmmmmmmm !

Re: Best single engine WWII fighter in diecast?

Using mold quality and detailing as my yardstick, I'd go with Carousel's FW-190D/13s, but Hobby Master's Buffalo isn't far behind.

Corgi 1/32 Bf 109 or GMP P40, they're both good.

Cool Re: Best single engine WWII fighter in diecast?

For me I think the Dragon P51D in 1/72, the Carousel 1 Fw 190D in 1/48 (still to get one. SOON), the Corgi Bf109 in 1/32 and the best, I think the GMP P40 - simply stunning! I'm not even into the P40 really but that model is truely a cracker! My first one was Texas Longhorn. I liked it enough to get another, RAF Kittyhawk. I'm not sorry, I love 'em and might try for the others too.

Predominatnly focusing on quality/accuracy of mold, but if someone has a real warm fuzy feeling for a specific model, shoot put it down.

Re: Best single engine WWII fighter in diecast?

GMP P40s for me every time, just awesome diecast.

A tie for second place between the Carousel P40 , 190D , and Dragon P47.

Honourable mention for the HM Buff.

Oh must not omit the Corgi Swordfish.

I had better stop now or this list will get way too long and you did ask for just one.

God Bless America.
