Schemes You'll Never See in Diecast

Which admittedly is most schemes...lol thought you livery hounds might find this interesting. I fly combat flight sims, and am a Tomcat lover...so of course since there's no combat flight sim that features the Tomcat I had to get creative... the sim is Lock On: Flaming Cliffs..skins by me...

Somebody needs to make an updated version of Fleet Defender. I still have that game in a box somewhere. Those were good times.

Don't do what BDE tells you to do. Do what BDE would want you to do.

Re: Schemes You'll Never See in Diecast

There are actually a couple of mods that allow you to fly the F-14 with the Su-33 flight model, cockpit etc...but it's no substitute IMHO. The mods can be found at: http://www.lockonfiles.com/ .

Re: Schemes You'll Never See in Diecast

Actually former Admiral Paul Gillcrist wrote an article in Flight Journal proposing the USN buy Sukhois from the Russians as a Tomcat replacement. This idea would never get off the ground due to Defense Industry politics, but had its merit. So these schemes, crazy as they seem, actually would be kinda cool. I really believe an Americanized Sukhoi with the latest US avionics would be a better platform than the Super Bug, and since Naval Aviators are in the cockpits of the thing, they would be superior to any other Sukhoi on the planet. I reserve judgement on its superiority against the Raptor, but since both are technically on the same side, that's a moot point.

Somehow, I think the US would buy Russian Sukhois at the same time that Russia buys the F-35
