| Re: Takara TMW A6M5 Zero 1/48 OK, you guys talked me into it: I have this on order from an eBay shop. No painting, minimal gluing... seems like the kind of model I can commit to. Best of all, I had about $25 in my PayPal account -- I have no idea where it came from -- so as far as I'm concerned, it's costing me around $25, not $50+. Of course, since it's on a slow boat from Japan, I probably won't see it until high summer, but it gives me something to look forward to. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Takara TMW A6M5 Zero 1/48
Thats what sold me!! There is only one tricky part. If you plan to put it together, I found the tail piece and engine require a bit of gluing. There is an anchor shaped piece with the tail piece that you're supposed to wedge in to allow it to attach to the cockpit fuselage without gluing. a bit tricky, but be sure to interpret the instructions carefully!

That model is really sharp. A Spit or Hurricane would be equally cool.

A Defiant with its turret would make for pretty interesting model too.

| Re: Takara TMW A6M5 Zero 1/48 Got my Zero last week -- very quickly for the cheapest shipping option from Japan. I'm really impressed with this kit. One QC issue: One of the cowling-mounted machine guns was AWOL. The seller (plug: radsan777; I'd buy from him again) quickly mailed off a replacement piece and now my kit's complete. All I need now is a few quiet hours to put it together, humming Japanese folk songs as I do. | |||||||||||||
