Can this be true? Check out this link:

AUTOart

Also claims a 1:24 scale P-51.

I sent an e-mail to the company asking for confirmation.

Re: AUTOart 9AEROart) 1:48 P-51, Spitfire Mk.V, Me109E, Zero

Good catch Elmer, I hope it's true!

However, looking at the picture of the 1/24 P-51D, it appears as though it's yet again another one of those where the desire to have retractable gear has won over accuracy. The landing gear doors look woefully too short, and the gear itself looks too thin (will any one ever learn?).

I hope the 1/48 scale efforts will have fixed or, even better, poseable gear, but not retractable, and will therefore look better. I want to see actual pictures before I get too enthusiastic...

FVD is right, the doors are to the point where they are almost not there at all.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Bubble buster:

That info has been on the AA site for...............years!

Bummer, but I doubt we see anything further from them. I have written every 6-9 months or so for 3 years about these images and never gotten a response.

Well... I figured it had to be something like this... just too good to be true. I've never visited their site before now. Too bad, some nice liveries there I would like to have.

But they do have a picture up of a Mustang in 1:24 scale (as FVD pointed out the gear doors and gear look awful). Has this picture also been on the site for years?

Aeroart announced these years ago, and they won't be produced because their 1/72 line failed so miserably..

Well... I put this to rest, and then today, I received a curious e-mail response from Gateway Global, Ltd., to an inquiry I made several weeks ago:

"We are still trying to make the body shell of these planes in aluminum finish. We don't want to make the similar finish that on the planes already in the market. We have to make ours out-perform all others. It really takes a lot of time for studying and trial.
By the way, do visit our online website www.aa-collection.com regularly to check details on our new releases and current models/
We look forward to receiving your order soon.
Best regards,
Gateway Global Ltd"

Now... I am not pinning much hope on AEROart actually producing these models, but, could it be that the company is still moving forward on the production? What do you all think?

Oooooooh, very tantalizing news! I can only hope they do proceed with it, though.

Would love to see someone else do a Zero. Not pleased that the one they are showing is the same Akagi Pearl Harbor plane that has been done to death by everyone else.
