F-105

Who is stepping up to the plate to build a 1/48 or 1/72 F-105. FM, Century Wings, Dragon, Witty? It is one of the aircrafts, I feel played an important role in Vietnam, whether it's track record was good or bad is not important. I also need it to go along with my Vietnam era aircraft collection.

Re: F-105

Right now I'd say none of the above. We all keep hoping.

Smile Re: F-105

Agreed, we all wait with baited breath. That said, there are plenty of other new models due out not least of which, plenty of new F4s.

Re: F-105

We need an F-105 bad. I would love to see a Wild Weasel version.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: F-105

It does not make sense you make a F-104, but not a F-105. The significance between the two aircrafts in military combat and Air Force history does not compare, but who am I do say. I'm just a diecst junky who wants to complete his Vietnam era aircraft collection and without the F-105, I think it is not complete. Based on the track record of the builders the F-105 mold must be the most dificult mold to create or they just have amnesia. I think if we pressure them enough someone will realize that there is a market for this aircraft?

Well both aircraft have relative merits on each own service records for the USAF, not to mention the F-104 being widely used by other nations as it's claim to fame. Besides, both warbirds were used in the Vietnam conflict with the F-105 gaining more notoriety and prestige than it's Century Series bretheren. I think it's only a matter of time before we see an F-105 diecast and Model Power will release one soon.

Thumbs up Re: F-105

I've just read (again) the fantastic book from Jack Broughton : "Thud ridge"...

I would be particularly keen on a 1/72 F-105D. (Though I would also take a two seater...)

You got me thinking, I just might have to pick that up of the shelf and give it another read. Been a few years, but it must have been good cause I kept it.
