Re: F-105

I've just read (again) the fantastic book from Jack Broughton : "Thud ridge"...

I would be particularly keen on a 1/72 F-105D. (Though I would also take a two seater...)

I don't have the book but there's an annotated version of that book from the AIRPOWER magazine in my collection. I agree it is a fantastic read and
loaded with photos/memos when he also was the Team Leader for the T-Birds. There was a photo of him with JFK in that article as well.

Re: F-105

It does not make sense you make a F-104, but not a F-105. The significance between the two aircrafts in military combat and Air Force history does not compare, but who am I do say. I'm just a diecst junky who wants to complete his Vietnam era aircraft collection and without the F-105, I think it is not complete. Based on the track record of the builders the F-105 mold must be the most dificult mold to create or they just have amnesia. I think if we pressure them enough someone will realize that there is a market for this aircraft?

Well, I'd love to see a 105 as well, but regarding your comments about 104 versus 105, it's obvious you are missing the crucial point which is all-important to diecast manufacturers: number of possible liveries (significantly different ones). The F-105 was only used by the USAF, and all the combat liveries (Vietnam) are pretty much the same. It is true, though, that there are some nice pre-1967 natural-metal schemes for the D model. But still, far, far more limited than for the F-104 which was used by so many countries in so many different paint schemes.

I do hope it happens anyway, 1/72 or 1/48.
