Very nice indeed.

I want this one, so therefore I'm justifying buying it.

And I'm looking forward to an Air Force version as well.

Cool Re: 1:32 Jolly Rogers BBI F4J Phantom *PICTURES*

Very cool model! Will they even post it to me? Wouldn't do a 1/32 Mossie.

Sherwyn, this is a much smaller and lighter box than a 1/32 Mossie, so you shouldn't have a problem..

It doesn't look good if you want to buy the new F-4J at a local store------no F-4Js will be sold at ToysRUs or Target according to my question on SmallScalehQ:

What are the chances of ToysRUs and Target.com getting the new F-4J?

I checked with bbi and they said it is only available through us retailers. It is about time we get an exclusive and not forced to compete with big chain stores.
We have them in stock and once they are seen in person it is gone.

Re: 1:32 Jolly Rogers BBI F4J Phantom *PICTURES*

STARMAN352ND:

Questions:

1. Any serious defects?
2. Are the Sidewinders, Sparrows and center tank the only attachments---no bombs, etc?
3. Any guess as to why BBI chose a Jolly Roger over a more historically significant F-4J such as Duke Cunningham's ?...possibly the stigma of Cunningham being in prison would affect sales?

There are only two planes I would buy multiple versions of: the P-51D Mustang and the F-4 Phantom II. It looks like I'll be buying BBI's F-4J...with the hopes they make an F-4D and/or F-4E, too.

Re: 1:32 Jolly Rogers BBI F4J Phantom *PICTURES*

I'd bet a lot of money their only concern was that it was a Jolly Rogers plane. I mean look----there's TWO different Jolly Roger Hornets out there, both fake and sold out. So historical accuracy obviously isn't much of a concern if the two best-selling 1/18 Hornets out there are totally fake.

Honestly, I'd make Jolly Rogers stuff too, if it sells that well.

Your answers are in order>
1.My Phantom looks great with no paint flaws or defects.I'm really picky finding paint flaws or glue smears with these plastic planes and i have been lucky so far of not having one.
2.Sidewinders, Sparrows and center tank are the only attachments that come with this Phantom.
3.IMOP is seems anything Jolly Rogers sells...That could be the reason as a 1st release who knows..But i would like to see Olds and Richie's USAF Phantoms as well.
This is BBI first 1:32 F4 Phantom and as time goes on i'm sure they will have improvements on the bird.IMHO this just opened the door for a whole new line of Phantoms to come from all the companies that make these plastic models.

Re: 1:32 Jolly Rogers BBI F4J Phantom *PICTURES*

STARMAN352ND:

Thanks for the info and for the great photos---they show the weathering that's not real obvious in the Badcat photos.
I was planning strictly for USAF/Vietnam paint F-4s, but then I learned from my FOV M1 Abrams-desert paint that the light color maximizes the weathering being seen. The FOV M1-NATO paint is so dark you can't see weathering, assuming there is any.

One more question:
Do the online dealers (Badcat, Flyingmule, Smalljoes, etc.) have occasional sales such as 10% off all items in stock? (Example: Deepdiscount.com has 2 regularly-scheduled 20% off all dvds--in June and November).

nothing looks more bad ass than a big skull and cross bones aye? Now thats a killer right there haha
I remember seeing a documentary on the F-14 and the Russians used to refer to them as the 'air pirates' because of VF-84 "escorting" their bears.
If there were no markings like VF-84's but instead just of VF-31's, maybe the russions will be referring to them as "the lil cat with a bowling ball"
