Re: BBI Phantom

The price doesn't really bother me that much (read: no signifcant other). I'd just spend the money on my car stereo addiction or something equally as useless -- say food or house payment.

The only thing that could make this better if it was made of metal. Hmmmm. Two-feet of zinc alloy...my display shelves are sagging just thinking about the possibility.

Yeah, I"m not a plastic fan -- so far I've managed to stay away from plastic models altogether, but this one brings back memories of my first 1:32 model jet I built back when I was 10 or so... it it were metal, I'd be drooling.... and yes, I'd pony up the dough for it in metal I think. Wonder how much that would be $200-300?

And remember Conemaugh, you can't live in your diecast models (though I suppose you could build a hut out of the boxes)

Re: BBI Phantom

So true Pappy. Although I can't live in the diecast, I certainly live vicariously through the history.

PappyB, is the plastic kit of the F-4 Phantom you mention made by Revell? If it is, yes I built one as well. I'm ordering this BBI jet just for nostalgia's sake!

I think it was a monogram kit, but it's been a few years -- could have been a Revell

I think I will be getting this one.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: BBI Phantom

Yeah, to me this one is a no-brainer, I-gotta-have-it model. Love the scale, love the aircraft, love the livery. And the price is right. I'll just have to figure out where to put it.

Like Pappy, I'd rather have seen it in metal, but both cost and weight might have been problems.
