1/72 set of Kamikaze planes & subs

Last edited by Canucklehead : 05-27-2008 at 07:48 PM. Reason: direct hyperlinks to retail sites prohibited outside of Market Place section of forum
I have been a big fan of plastic 1/144 scale planes to fill gaps in my 1/72 WWII Japanese warbird collection. I buy most of my small scale pre-built planes on Ebay or from Hobby Link (HLJ.com).

I recently came across this new set of pre-built (painted) Kamikaze planes & subs; they are made by Star Corporation and are 1/72 scale.

1/72 Kamikaze Attack 1 set of 8 - Box (10pcs) - hlj.com

Items pictured:
- Kikka (Toko2)
- Tsurugi (Toko1)
- Ouka (Toko3)
- Kaiten (Toko4)

Re: 1/72 set of Kamikaze planes & subs

That is a nice looking group of planes. I would like to get a hold of the Nakajima Ki. 115 Tsurugi, interesting looking aircraft to say the least. I have only seen one other company that puts out a kit of this aircraft. Eduard has a 1/48th scale kit of this aircraft, but I would really prefer to get my hands on the 1/72nd scale model of it that you posted.

That does look interesting, pity it's plastic. No offence, I have some 1/32 21st Century planes, it's 1/144 is tiny for small aircraft. Diecast would add some more feel.

Re: 1/72 set of Kamikaze planes & subs

I'm starting to take a fancy at Japanese small scale stuff. Those planes and subs look very cool, but at 5500 yen, it's a wee bit steep for 1/144.

Re: 1/72 set of Kamikaze planes & subs

I found a site that has them in stock...or should i say they say they do..
Prices aren't too bad for the set...I like the looks of the planes...But i'll pass until someone post some pictures of them.
