Re: Figarti 1/32nd B-17!

No, I bought a wrecked one, and fixed it.

Re: Figarti 1/32nd B-17!

These are a little on the high side. I think they are gearing these toward the high end King & Country Warbird collectors. I have a few more pictures of the model. Along with the plane you will get 11 ground crew members and accessory pieces. Metal figures usually run around $100 for a set of 4 so that has a little to do with the high cost. I haven't heard an actual production number on these.

Figarti announced a lot of new material at the show in Chicago a few weeks ago. I will be posting some more of the new items in the Figarti thread shortly.

Thanks
Ronnie

Re: Figarti 1/32nd B-17!

For the price it had better be extremely accurate. I'm willing to accept some minor errors when a model is $30 but at almost $1000 once you figure out the shipping it had better be perfect.

I don't know about anyone else but this model seems just a bit off! Besides the top turret looking too squarish, the entire thing looks a bit short (maybe it's more 1/35 - 1/40 scale?). Anyhow, I've gotta agree with 1250ships, for the price this thing better be perfect!

p.s. wasn't the Yankee Doodle an "E" model Fortress and would the astraldome be wrong for this aircraft?

I thought it didn't look entirely right, especially in the first shot with the lovely spokesmodel holding it, but it is really hard to tell for sure from those images. I agree that the turret looks awful square and the area behind the turret looks wrong especially where it blends back into the fuselage.

I hope they will be issuing some better pictures, especially if dealers are expecting pre-orders. Frankly at that price point I wouldn't blame dealers for not ordering them without some sign of specific customer interest.

Also they might want to consider issuing the figures separately. They look very good and would go with any Corgi or 21st Century 1/32 aircraft sets.

Re: Figarti 1/32nd B-17!

To my eye, it does look a bit small because I just broke out my Corgi 32 scale Mossie and it seems just tad smaller than the 17 in the photos. In reality, the Mosquito is quite a bit smaller than the 17......maybe the lovely model in the photos is a Plus Sized Model?

Re: Figarti 1/32nd B-17!

Great model. But how come some GUY is holding it? Aren't all "held" models supposed to be held by young, good-looking women? I thoght there was a law written somewhere mandating that!

Can you imagine the weight of that model? My guess is 20lbs. I doubt that they could find a young attractive lady who could lift it. With the trend towards gigantic replicas apparently in full swing perhaps they will follow up with a B-36 in 1:16 scale. That ought to cost something like $2500, plus $500 extra for a custom paint job and weigh in at 75lbs or more.

Agreed! I would definitely acquire the figure sets if it was an option.
