F-22 Raptor Poll

Do you like the looks of the F-22 Raptor as a fighter.
Not just the FM or Gaincorp diecast models but the F-22 Raptor in general.

Re: F-22 Raptor Poll

My crystal ball heads up display predicts .....sooner rather than later, that the Raptor will be produced in excellent quality it deserves by other manufacturers.

So a definite YES!!!

Holy cow... I'm the only no vote! I was a huuuuuge fan of the YF-23 (still am) and was extreeeeeeeeemly ticked when they announced the YF-22 was the winner. Total shenanigans!!!

I don't hate the F-22 but it's not the best looking bird out there IMO.

Yeah, I would definitely buy a diecast of the Northrop YF-23 in a heart-beat, so I had to settle for a New Ray plastic model instead.

Re: F-22 Raptor Poll

Heck yeah, that F-22 looks sweet to me. Better than the YF-23 (which looked different and intriguing, no doubt, but not that pretty in my mind).

In the early days of the YF-22, I didn't like the shape of the vertical stabs that much, but they reduced the size of these things on the production F-22s and I guess I've grown to be neutral on them, if not like them completely.

As an aside, nothing will ever beat the X-32 in ugliness (even though the British, especially, have made some pretty ugly airplanes in the past! Which is interesting because they also made the Spitfire, one of the best-looking airplanes ever...).

Re: F-22 Raptor Poll

The NMUSAF has the YF-23 in the restoration shop. There are plans to still build them as a medium bomber. Yeager said that the YF-23 was more of a pilot's airplane, but they went with the F-22 which was still a great airplane
