Re: Money-How much you spend a month on diecast

I'd say about $200.00/month average. However, with the inflow of new models on the market, I think it's going to be nearly impossible for that average not to go up in 2007. I'm already off to a higher than average start since January...

Re: $$$$- How Much Do You Spend A Month On Diecast

I'm generally under the $100 per month catagory (and voted that way).

However, the past month I had some extra cash come in, caught a couple good deals,....and, well....this past month has been a flood of new diecast to really break my usual pattern(s).

I try to spend under $100 a month to keep my sanity in check and most importantly my wife by my side!

Re: $$$$- How Much Do You Spend A Month On Diecast

I'm the binge and purge type I guess -- one month I'll drop $200 or so... then I'll go "dark" for a month or two... and I'll repeat. I probably average around $1,000/year which is a depressing large percentage of my yearly disposable income... Father to twin girls, sole $ earner for a household in "affordable" California . The fact that I come up with the creative financing to keep my hobby going shocks me sometimes Other hobbies of mine have fallen by the wayside, this one -- and photography -- are the only ones that I seem to consistently keep going over the years.

But I gotta say the categories of the last couple of polls has made me feel like perhaps I'm not as afflicted as I thought, at least in comparsion to some of you gents -- so thanks for that! Apparently, I'm only an "enthusiast" whereas I thought I was an obsessive compulsive hardcore diecast addict

Now, Fly, I could swear I remember you saying on MH I in a similar thread that you "held yourself to 12 models a year"... your "condition" isn't getting worse now is it -- I'd think with all this "support" around here you could hold yourself in check, like me...

Re: $$$$- How Much Do You Spend A Month On Diecast

How much? - Far far to much to be honest.

I've only really been collecting since may last year and have broken the century mark in # of models. I have to say though that most of this was back catalog, which thankfully I have now almost filled my wants with, but I have quite a lot of the new stuff coming up to tempt me.

Ooops!

Yeah, based on what you wrote the other day about what you have in your collection, that figure must be, shall we say, "impressive"?
