Re: $$$$- How Much Do You Spend A Month On Diecast

I don't spend much any more...I've got so many already, and I find that overcrowding tends to detract from the aesthetics of them, so I now go months without a single purchase (but I still consider myself a diecast fanatic)...One thing I learned is not to let the hysteria of some new "special commission" or whatever, influence me. I'm convinced that there are more than a few people on these forums who have bought diecast just because everyone else was raving about it and didn't want to feel left out. If it isn't something that appeals to me personally, I don't want it.

I don't invest in diecast.

Re: $$$$- How Much Do You Spend A Month On Diecast

I spend about $30 to $50 every couple of months. 99% of what's being made just doesn't appeal to me anymore. I buy the "must haves" and skip the rest. I also don't fall for the "buy it now or it will be gone" trick. I save my pennies, and only get what I like. That's really turned this into a fun hobby for me - less of a keep up with the Joneses mentality.

Doing what you want is freedom; doing what you like is happiness.

Re: $$$$- How Much Do You Spend A Month On Diecast

I started late in this hobby so I had some catching up to do. Now I have most of what I wanted I pick and choose more.
I wanted a broad based collection of WW11 planes and I think I am now not far from that point.
More Spits and 109s dont interest me although I have to admit I cannot resist any new P40 that comes on the market, but as to the rest well, they will have to be special to get any of my dwindling funds.

I will be ready for the Halifax, P61 and a P39 to fatten out the collection.

God Bless America.
