Corgi and Revell Tornado

I looked around and found Revell has some very interesting Tornado schemes, how does Revell's quality compares with the Corgi's?

Re: Corgi and Revell Tornado

I quite like the Revell Tornado. The detailng is every bit as good as Corgi. If you are someone who prefers to display the aircraft on a stand, then you need to stick with Corgi. The great thing about Revell was the different squadrons they tackled. It is a pity that they withdrew from the market.

Re: Corgi and Revell Tornado

I have 3 of the Corgi subject but have not even seen the Revell.
I love the Corgi versions I have though! The W. German Marine is very nice, but my #1 is the Red, White and Blue Royal Aircraft Establishment version, Very nice!

Re: Corgi and Revell Tornado

Hhmmm. Likewise. I haven't seen the Revell one either. I have 2 Corgi Tornados, both in German colours.

I'm looking forward to adding the HM F104 and Mig21 in German schemes to my two.

The only RAE aircraft I have is the Buccanneer and its great. The very aircraft in fact operates out of Cape Town!

Re: Corgi and Revell Tornado

guess i was lucky to get my hands on a Revell Tornado.
I appreciate the finer panel lines and detailed cockpit interior/exterior (riveted canopy?!), but ordnance is flimsy and would not stay in its place, but verall, i prefer Revell's effort vs. Corgi's.

I couldn't agree more on the R-W-B RAE Tornado - it was the first Corgi Jet I purchased. I also have the others now - ALL Corgis!

Re: Corgi and Revell Tornado

The Tornado is one of my all-time favorite planes and for that reason have three - all from Corgi. I have only seen the Revell model in pics but it does look quite nice. However, the lack of a stand would be a deal breaker with me.

Sounds like I may have the same three as Woodman. My favorite (at this time anyway) is the German Marine version followed by the BAE version. I really don't think you can go wrong with any of the Corgi Tornados though.

Re: Corgi and Revell Tornado

revell's is more refined as its the plastic kit by revell retooled in diecast
