| Corgi Me 262 (AA35706) vs. new FOV ME 262 Anyone have BOTH the Corgi Me 262 - AA35706 and the new FOV Me 262 (1:72)? If so, could you post some perspective or Compare/contrast these two models? historical/technical mold accuracy. Paint/printing/markings. Pilot. gear fit. gaps in either model. etc. (I guess what I'm looking for - bottom line - is there anything about the Corgi version that would make the extra $15 spent worth it?) Thanks in advance for any reviews or comparisons you provide. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Corgi Me 262 (AA35706) vs. new FOV ME 262
I have both Corgi Legends Galland 262 and FOV Nowotny 262: as far as 'mold accuracy' is concerned, the Corgi is the winner hands down! FOV's has major QA issues - huge gaps by the wings & engine mounts + attachments. Comparing TOP View profiles on both, the engine housing looks 'too short and wide' and very obvious on the FOV's. The FOV's 262 has an advantage with added MG details - but even this it's highly questionable. It really depends on you? I don't have any qualms when it comes to purchasing other mfg brands - to me if it offers something unique or different and the price is right (in the case of FOV) then I usually go for it. Overall, the FOV Me 262 ain't too shabby, imho...and it still merits a place in my collection regardless of the issues I've detailed above. Hope this helps. | ||||||||||||||

| Re: Corgi Me 262 (AA35706) vs. new FOV ME 262 I have to agree with flyXwire. I have the Corgi Galland and, while I do not own an FOV 262, I have spent a lot of time pondering. Besides the earlier comments, there is just something about all FOV models that does not look right to me- sometimes the color, other times the shape, and sometimes nothing I can articulate. Corgis are by no means perfect, but the look is usually right and I like the packaging, certificate and even the collectibility. Besides, the mass retail (i.e., Target) FOV planes have fixed u/c. However, with all that said, you really cannot beat the price. But for me, I would rather spend the extra $ for the whole Corgi package. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Corgi Me 262 (AA35706) vs. new FOV ME 262 Though I only looked at the FOV through the package at Target, I took a good long look and put it back. I have the Corgi now. The FOV lacked sharpness and I like the more vibrant/finer paint color and finish on the Corgi. I say it's worth the $ too, especially if you may ever want to sell it to make room for something else. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Corgi Me 262 (AA35706) vs. new FOV ME 262 Thanks for the replies/perspective. EXACTLY what I was looking for. At this time, I think I'll wait on the FOV Me 262 and put my diecast budget toward other options. Take care and thanks again. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Corgi Me 262 (AA35706) vs. new FOV ME 262 I have 3 Corgi ME 262 models and I like them. I can't compare them to FOV because I don't have any. When FOV launched their 1:72 line I purchased a Stuka and a Hurricane Night Fighter. On inspection, I decided they were not for me and returned them. If price is the criteria set for collecting. Where does quality come in?, and what about personal satisfaction. IXO have many models in their range and the run of the mill models (previously done by others) are not what keeps us interested in their products. Rather it's the models no other manufacturer will do. Price is important, if you feel better served by FOV, by all means purchase them. If 20% or 30% more buys you a more comprehensive model go that route. After all we share the same interest no matter what our criterias are. | |||||||||||||
