Re: Future Releases

I do love the David VS Goliath aspect of the PLZ 11C and do love the gull wing, so original, so few planes look like this one!

I love Polikarpov

Re: Future Releases

The "Centruy Series" would be a great line:

F-100 Super Sabre (a good one in 1:72 or 1:48)
F-101 VooDoo
F-102 Delta Dagger
F-104 Starfighter (been there - done that)
F-105 Thunderchief
F-106 Delta Dart

Or, how about these Navy models:

F9F Panther
F8U Crusader (can anyone say "Last Gunfighter"?)
A-5 Vigilante ( I can wish, can't I?)
A-6 Intruder
A-7 Corsair II

Kate
Val
George
Frank
Oscar

Sorry you asked, I bet?

Re: Future Releases

Oh yeah, the F-8 Crusader. One mean airplane.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Future Releases

My vote would be as follows, all in 1/72 Scale.

F-8 Crusader. There's enough liveries from the late 50s USN-USMC to the 90s French Navy. Do different Mig Killers, and even make a retooled Recon RF-8 with various liveries, and it will sell.

F-105 Thunderchief. Another good Vietnam Era airplane. Same schemes, but you can go silver, SEA Camo, and with a slight retooling make an F-105G Wild Weasel. Whoever goes for this one will have a winner, as it fill gaps in people's Vietnam era collections.

A-6 Intruder. Lots of cool liveries, and again, a good gap filler in people's collections. You can have an early Vietnam Era A model, late Vietnam, low vis modern, and tanker variants with minimum retooling.

A-7 Corsair. Another good gap filler, along with the A-6, also a long service life with more interesting liveries, from Gray-White to low vis to USAF SEA Camo.

F-111. Nobody really has done this one, and again you have an airplane with a long service life, with lots of liveries from Vietnam to the Gulf to present day Australia. Its another gap filler in people's collections.

F-80 Shooting Star/T-33. Another neglected plane, this one would be a gap filler in people's Korean War era collections. Liveries range from WW-2 Gray to modern day Canadian low vis. Would look really good displayed next to a Meteor, Me-262 or F-86.

F7F Tigercat. Only a few liveries, WW-2, postwar, and Korean war black for the nightfighter 3N variant. You could even do a firebomber variant, something you can't really do with most fighters. Still, this one is a beautiful airplane, and Naval Aviation collectors will appreciate its addition to their collections.

B5N Kate. A definate must for Naval Aviaton collectors to make a Pearl Harbor-Midway era Japanese air group. Only a few liveries, but they'll be popular because of the history involved.

D3A Val. Same as above.

TBD Devastator. Liveries range only from prewar to early WW-2, but I can think of at least 3 distinct types...Prewar, Red Dot early war, and Midway. The different combos among the types ought to make enough different variants for that one to at least break even. Plus the history of the aircraft makes it worth doing in diecast. Last but least, its another gap filler in Naval Aviation.

These are my main choices for airplanes not yet done or announced. If Hobbymaster is doing the Phantom and A-1 Skyraider, here's my 2 cents on liveries.

F-4G Wild Weasel in low vis gray for the Gulf War. You can do an E-model as the base with lots of liveries (Israel, Vietnam, present day international and with minimum changes make a decent G model. The Gulf War era Weasel is a nice scheme, and it will fill the gap in people's Desert Storm collections.

A-1 Skyraider. I'd likely choose one of the Mig Killer liveries for this one. Still, Korean Era Midnight Blue and USAF SEA Camo would also look good.

Those are the top dozen I'd buy if manufacturers came up with them.

Re: Future Releases

Agh the Devastator, another one that I want. I would like to see a 1/48th scale Avenger.

Re: Future Releases

If the F8U is made -- the "unique" speed brake system better make it to the production line. Something about the whole wing popping out of the fuselage says "whoa!!"

Re: Future Releases

Well . . . here's my 2 cents :

I would like to see these in 1/72 scale, please :

1.) Curtiss SBC2 Helldiver
2.) Douglas A-20 Havoc
3.) Douglas A-26 Invader
4.) Bristol Beaufort
5.) Bristol Bleinheim
6.) Hawker Tempest
7.) Arsenal VG-33
8.) Tupelov Tu-2
9.) Dornier Do 17/217
10.) Arado Ar 196
11.) Arado Ar 234
12.) Blohm und Voss BV138
13.) Focke-Wulf FW 189 Uhu
14.) Junkers Ju 188
15.) Messerschmitt 210/410
16.) Reggiane 2001/2002/2005
17.) Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 Sparviero
18.) Kawanishi H8k 'Emily'
19.) Mitsubishi G4M 'Betty'
20.) Kawasaki Ki-45 Toryu 'Nick'
21.) Aichi D3A1 'Val'
22.) Nakajima B5N/B6N 'Kate'/'Jill'
23.) Martin B-26 Marauder
24.) Sikorsky Ch-53 Jolly Green Giant

If you hadn't noticed, my list focuses on aircraft that no one else makes in 1/72. That's how IXO pulled off their coup, even if the quality wasn't fantastic.

But that's how you'll get buyers and repeat customers - make sure the quality and accuracy is there. That's why HobbyMaster is such a hit now.

Personally, I want good information and history on each plane. This can be printed on the box or in a seperate sheet or booklet. I will definitely buy a plane with a good history/story/info. over a similiar one with no data. That's one reason I like Corgi - usually good info. on all their planes.
