| Re: Pre war bi-planes Well, I'll be ..... Altaya/DeAgostini is launching a WWI series (clearly as a follow-on from their WWII series). This ought to be interesting, particularly if they are truly 1/72. Somehow they look larger to me (like 1/48). I'm not seeing anything on the Spanish or Portuguese sites yet, but they normally lag a bit when introducing a new line. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Pre war bi-planes I've heard of "Aeroplane Military Aircraft" but I've never seen them in person. If I remember correctly I was told that they were better than Matchbox. I know that could mean a lot of things, but that's how they were described to me. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Pre war bi-planes
Just heard from the seller he states that they are 1/72 "as that what it says on the box" if that is the case those pilots seem very well detailed.

| Re: Pre war bi-planes I had a look at the Fokker DR1. I thought that it might have been the old Lledo model ( about 1.72 ), but I don't think so. Lledo sold a few bi and tri planes which retailed under the banner " Days Gone". I got a Tiger Moth, several Fokker Dr1s in the livery of the BVR ( green fus., green bottom two wings, red top wing and tail ) and A COUPLE OF sOPWITH cAMELS. ( finely cast ) Lledo sold these a few years ago at £4.00 each. That Fokker Dr1 on ebay looks as if it has piano wire stringing in front of the pilot. To me, the casting seems very crude compared to the Lledo version. Also, are those crosses correct? MoMo | |||||||||||||

| Re: Pre war bi-planes They look pretty nice, though I prefer my WW I in 1:48. His info on the Nieuport 11 is incorrect, however, it entered combat in 1915, not 1914. And, to Skunky, yes, the Stearman does seem to need some Viagra! | |||||||||||||

Yes, in 1918 Germany switched from the Maltese Cross, so one can see Fokker Triplanes with either type of cross
