| Johnny Lightning 1/144 Military Muscle Warbirds After being lured into the 21st Century 1/144 aircraft line, I hunted these down on eBay. They are nice little airplanes. A question for anyone else who has these: What are the numbers on the card inserts that you have? I have 7, 8, ,9 and 10. I am curious because Johnny Lightning would sometimes change the pictures on their insert cards as a way to make people buy more of the same cars over and over again. The guys at the JL boards have no idea (most of them are only marginally interested in airplanes). Thanks in advance! | ||||||||||||||

| Re: Johnny Lightning 1/144 Military Muscle Warbirds Mine are/were the same bsmith (some are no longer in packaging). I was hoping it meant there were more in the series but never saw anything else before they vanished from the shelves altogether. I didn't get any of the 21st line, trying to stay focussed on 1/72, but for a while I did buy into some of the Bandai Wings Club, Takara and FToys line of 1/144 assembled plastic stuff, and they're very nice. Have you seen them? | ||||||||||||||

| Re: Johnny Lightning 1/144 Military Muscle Warbirds Thanks for the reply! I don't have any of the ground vehicles in the Military Muscle collection, so it may be that 1-6 and so on might be the cards in those blisters. I feel a little bit bad for JL - they were trying so hard to find niches to expand into. This could have been a good one for them, but they were put on pegs next to the cars, where most airplane collectors never look. I've seen some of those Takara etc. on eBay, but I don't have any in my collection. Yet. | ||||||||||||||

Yes, you got your numbers in order. #7 Set 1 F4U and P-40E #8 Set 2 P-47D "Razorback" and P-51D #9 Set 3 P-51D and F4U #10 Set 4 P-40E and P-47D "Razorback" The Bandai Wings Club, Takara and FToys are the nicest small scale warbirds to come along as no4mkit says. I got th X-29 FSW which compliments my X-Plane collection as well. | |||||||||||||||
