The funny thing is that even though Dragon is the best, the others make tolerable showings. I still love my Matchbox Mustangs, and Gemini is so close, it seems unfair that the graph should show them so badly. Such is the nature of graphs.

in my view i would list them in this order dragon,witty,altaya,matchbox and lastly corgi.i have'nt included gemini or autoart because gemini is a p51b and i am still waiting for it to arrive,autoart is another i have'nt seen in the flesh and is'nt it fitted out as a 2 seater? like the converted warbirds of today.the altaya is underated for the price it just needs a better prop.shame the matchbox did'nt have an undercart.witty's version is nice, good schemes but the canopy could be better.dragon's mustang his excellent i think the best mould they have done it looks very like the tamiya plastic kit!why they have never capitalised on this i dont know

Seeing as no-one else has, i want to put my two cents in for.....

i like them a lot - nice varied range, the latest [Ridge Runner] is very good and the OFMC tie-in of Ferocious Frankie is particularly good looking
Dragons may be technically perfect, but they leave me cold - its not the standard of the mould, or the sharpness of the panel lines, its how eyecatching the model is and Witty hit the spot for nearly everytime

Geminis i'm not sure about, that moveable rudder gets to me, the way Dragons flaps do
Cant wait to see what Corgi do with the 51B
Have you seen the size of the 20mm cannon on that A-36??

To my knowledge there were only 2 1/72nd scale and 2 1/144 scale diecasts of the Aero Art 'Stangs! Get this, Aero Art did tease us with a 1/24 diecast version of the P-51, IIRC! I would've been in line to grab one of those for sure. I've been lately getting a 'hard on' and making it my mission to collect every diecast made of my favorite wild pony in any scale.

Surprisingly both 1/72s & 1/144s have been available here. A buddy and I took one of the 1/72s each for comparison and evaluation. I looked at the 1/144s because I fancied the Tuskeegee bird but didn't get in the end.

Dragon is #1 when it comes to the P-51

Waltz gave me an Aeroart P-51. He gave me Mary Mac, and it is sweet. If the biggest error is the second seat, I can handle it. I can handle the mistake if it is because you copied one that you were actually there looking at. Just like the GMP P-40 tail wheel. It is not wrong, but was made after what they saw in the hangar.
