My post on that thread emphasizes doing a decent amount of homework and eventually coming up with an initial plan---which can always be modified at a later date. I think it's a mistake to start, arbitrarily, with a single manufacturer like Corgi. If you follow this path it will lead you to sub par P-51s, F4Us,and Zeros, plus otherwise OK planes like the P-40 and JU-87 ( both missing pitot heads ) and superior entries such as the B-17, B-24, Mosquito, Lancaster, Hurricane, Swordfish, HE-111 and others. Following your homework, which should include a careful reading of many threads on this website concerning the planes you really care most about and a careful study of available pictures, I would buy the best planes in the scale you prefer, regardless of who makes them. |
