| Re: For The 214 Blacksheep I loved this show when I was a kid. I remember seeing a show on History channel (or Military channel, I forget which) about VMF-214. They interviewed a Blacksheep pilot who said that the only thing that was historically accurate about the show were the following:
1. The commander was named "Boyington".
2. The squadron was VMF-214.
3. They flew Corsairs.
My mom didn't like me to watch the show of course. She thought the Blacksheep were bad role models. I don't think she ever understood that for me, it was only ever about the planes. Of course, I was only 12, and didn't care about historical accuracy like I do now, so I have a soft spot in my heart for it, and watch it whenever it's on. |
