| Re: Quality Control As far as the two colors of green on the "Bald Eagle", I suspect this is probably correct. The olive drab on the anti-glare panel was what was put on at the factory while the overpainting of the stripes on the wing and upper fuselage were probably done in Britain with locally available paint--in other words, British dark green. It was common for 8th Air Force fighters to use the British dark green on their upper surfaces when camouflage was applied--only because it was available while the US olive drab was not. Hence. the two different shades of green on "Bald Eagle". |
