No doubt US customs will be monitoring this situation very closely as it would seem that the customs declaration forms were not entirley accurate about the make up of these particular items.
Having been involved in exporting goods to the USA I know just how stringent US when it comes to imported goods.
Even the leather shoes & belts sent to our track support engineers in the US had to be accompanied by a toxicity form (just in case they got bored during a race & decided to suck on them) as well as their ball point pens, any one knowingly making a false declaration on the documentation was liable to a fine up to $250,000 &/or 5 years in prison & the company involved could be banned from trading within the US.

In the UK there used to be a department within the West Midlands Trading Standards Authority that tested all new toys arriving on the UK market but due to government cut backs it no longer exists, does each state within the US have something similar?.
