| Re: Diecast regret(s) ????? What are your diecast regrets?
1) What model(s) did you wish you would have picked up when they were released, but never got around to picking up; and now they are nowhere to be found? I really wanted to get Corgi's Oh-7 B-25 and the "Strawberry Bitch" B-24. Now they are hard to find, they cost a lot, and since I've gotten other models to fill their niche in my collection, I don't really want them all that much anymore. Same applies to all Corgi's Spitfires and German planes - I've learned to live without.
2) Anyone have that situation...then after obsessing over the model, paid WAY over list to eventually acquire it? If so, what model(s) and how high did you go? I desperately wanted a 1/72 Altaya Tony. I waited and waited until I finally cracked and got one on e-bay. Paid $35.00 plus $8.00 for shipping. Then 6 months later you could get them here for less. Then I bought a Corgi desert Fw-190. Paid $40.00 for it, got it, hated it, sold it (for a real loss)! Learned a lesson: good things come cheaper to those who wait. Applied this lesson towards all my Gemini Aces models - never bought the "buy them RIGHT now because soon they'll be gone" line. If I can't get it later, then I don't need it.
Or this situation...
3) Never got around to picking up that model - model then became scare - you thought you would NEVER find it - only to later pick it up for a screaming deal? If so, what model(s)? Got the Corgi "Hun Hunter" P-51 for $19.99. Love the markings and the fact that it's still hard to find. Recently got "The Dragon and his Tail" B-24 for under $35.00. Lastly, always wanted a Corgi USAF F-4 Phantom II. Just got one for $20.00 - good pick up. |
