Remember, if the N1K1-J had been a simple land adaptation of the N1K1, the N1K2-J resulted from an extensive redesign of the airframe, to move the wings to the low position... | Yes I do agree with you on that, however, there is no reason whey they can't do a N1K1 Kyofu 'Rex' even if it means retooling the mould to accomodate the airframe design.
