Very interesting. When I was a kid I collected about 90 of these and still have about 20 or so in reasonably fair shape ( the materials used to make them begin to deteriorate after about 40 years, resulting in a slow dissolving effect that is ultimately terminal for the model ). Their quality and accuracy is at best only fair, however their nostalgic values are priceless. About 15 years ago a great guy named Dick Miller ( he has since passed on ) amassed a collection of about 130 of these models. Investing in plastic, molds he set up a company and sold replicas of these planes with some success. For those who are interested, and I must caution that there are quality issues, these are still sold by the Collector's Airmodel Co. based in Texas. They are fairly pricey items and delivery can take up to 8 weeks but true recognition model fans should check these folks out. Meanwhile I'll take a long hard look at the source you identified in your post. Thanks.
