Witty Su-27 Canopy Experiment

All us Flanker nuts, such as myself, are accutely aware of the horrible, inaccurate canopies on both the Gaincorp and Witty birds. After obtaining some excellent Flanker schematics, however, I discovered, much to my surprise, that the upper longitutinal contour, of Witty's canopy, is correct. It's the lower contour, where the canopy & windscreen meet the fuselage, the framing and the glass area that are incorrect on Witty's version.

An accurate fix, of Witty's canopy, would involve grinding down the canopy & windscreen, to their proper shape, and building up the fuselage surrounding the cockpit tub- far more work than I was interested in attempting. So, instead, I tried to see if I could do a make-shift correction by simply painting over the parts of the canopy/windscreen that should be fuselage. The pics below are the result of my experiment. Unfortunately, the FS35237 Medium Gray was not quite a match for Witty's gray.
