A number of combat aircraft used in WW II looked mean and just plain nasty- especially when one found one of them closing in on your tail. Some even enhanced their already scary looks with painted on shark mouths, grinning dragon beaks , etc. Among the most intimidating, in my book, were the U.S. and British P-40s, the U.S. P-38 , P-61 "Black Widow" ( when one could see it ), P-47, B-25J( Pacific Theater versions)and the F-4U. Also on my list, are Germany's FW-190A and D, and its ME-262A, plus the HE-219 nightfighter-as with our P-61,providing you could see it coming. The RAF's Beaufighter and USSR's IL-2M round out my most scary list. Anyone care to chime in on this? | I'd say the one shooting at you is the most scariest.
