| Yes, it looks like this is the second repaint of their upcoming T-34 obr 1942 (according to Soviet designations) with a ChTZ turret, and both camouflage schemes are really nice. I'll buy at least one of these for sure.
Any expert with good references would dare assign a unit/month to these two tanks? Maybe a Russian member or visitor?
Dragon not always does it right. Their SdKfz 251/7 in grey (60276) is labelled "Barbarossa", when the original picture captions I've seen say it was photographed in the Netherlands; their recent SdKfz 251/2 (60281) is labelled "unidentified unit, Eastern front", when it is in fact a 21st Panzer Division vehicle (the model itself exhibits a 21st division marking!!) in Tunisia - there's a photograph of this or a very similar vehicle (in fact a 251/1 rather than 251/2) in SSP's "in action" booklet on the SdKfz 251, and the legend states it was Von Arnim's personal halftrack. |
chascbv, would you be able to post the photograph of the actual vehicle after which the 60281 was modeled. I've been trying to find more info on Dragon's tanks as well. Sometimes they're really vague in their descriptions.
