Re: New IXO Planes

Stalag8611,
Hey there.

You make some good points about IXO being the whipping boy. I've got a few IXO's and I like them. However, it's always a buyer beware issue with IXO. If you know what level of quality you are going to get, no problem. If you are expecting DETAIL (Which many folks are, no matter the manufacturer.) then you are going to be put off.

The big problem with IXO seems to be that when they get it wrong, BOY do they get it wrong. That and the fact that their cost is equal to Dragon, Corgi, et.al. means that folks hold them to a higher standard.

IXO gets plenty of props for giving us a DO335, Tony, Frank, LA-7 and several other nice models that no one else is making anytime soon. IXO really dissapoints when their Yak is manufacturered so sloppy.

I also think part of the dissapointment with IXO is that is appears that is would be so easy to improve their line in general. A tweek here, a tweek there and the planes would be MUCH nicer. (The really heavy panel lines being a major point.)

Anything for a weird life.
