| The "early 2000's" part makes sense as far as the English "Uz Air Force" is concerned. After 9/11, Uzbekistan let the US Airforce operate from an airbase near the Afghanistan border. The English lettering was probably there to let USAF folks know that the Uz Su-27 was one of the "good guys". |
Id even question the logic behind that. By the time you get close enough to read that, if it was indeed a bad guy, you'd be dead wasting time trying to read the markings. But I guess it would make sense if you wake up to an airfield and you suddenly see an SU-27 parked next to your F-16 and wonder what the hell was going on.
