I don't collect 1/400 military releases so had missed out on the first couple Herpa 1/400 PBY Catalina models. But they have put out a nice civilian one that doesn't cost $60 like the darn Cathay Pacific one so I picked it up. This is a PBY-5A Catalina of Alaska Coastal Ellis Airlines. Herpa also have two wartime versions of the Catalina available.

I know we don't have a ton of 1/400 collectors here but thought it was interesting to see what can be done in this scale as compared to the 1/72 Corgi version. What you are looking at here is 2 inches long with a 3 inch wingspan.
