| Re: Legends limited after all? Nice info. Where'd you get it?
We've been informed by Corgi's new management that the numbers were being reduced, but it is fascinating to see the actual numbers. I thought the new "Legends" *are* limited, though I could be wrong. In Corgi's case, non-limited simply means that the company may produce more of a given model in the future. "Limited" simply means that Corgi promises that no more will be made (at least, no more of the same quality). Even "unlimited" models are made in a given finite quantity. Let's just say that "Limited" means "finite and bounded", while "Unlimited" means "finite but unbounded". In that spirit, observe that Corgi has repeatedly released the 1/144 Memphis Belle. Each release is slightly different, with different box art, or slight variations in livery, but Corgi has never promised that any of these releases is "limited". On the other hand, the AA Wick Bf-109 was reproduced as a Warbirds, but the limited AA is definitely of superiour quality (in both printing and accessories) to the Warbird. In general, Corgi has not been in the habit of announcing the production numbers for non-limited models.
The new management may change some of these policies. |
